What is HPV (human papilllomavirus)?

HPV also known as Human papillomavirus. It’s a family of more than 100 HPV viruses. HPV virus spread thru skin to skin contact. If infected by HPV virus, it takes months and years to appear or symptoms may never appear.

There are around 30% of the HPV virus spread thru skin to skin sexual contact. These sexual transmitted diseases HPV virus can be categories into High Risk HPV and Low Risk HPV. High Risk HPV can cause certain kinds of cancer and mostly cervical cancer. However, Low Risk HPV can cause genital warts.

Good news is, some HPV infections will go away by itself and will be suppressed by the body. Some medical research suggest that, if a women was infected by a particular type of HPV and recovered, then she will become immune to it and cannot be re-infected by the same type again.

Symptoms of HPV infections
The symptoms of HPV infection normally appear as cauliflower like growths called genital warts. They can be found on the inside and the outside of the vagina. These growths may take weeks or even years to show after having sex with an infected partner.
